Kristin's Story
I'm a communicator, a bon vivant who values experiences more than things, a culture vulture and an urbanite with deep roots in Seattle.
With substantial experience in marketing, strategic communications, media relations, public relations and reporting, I’ve built a reputation of delivering the right message for every situation. I now work as a freelance content marketing writer.
My love affair with words and my flair for connecting with an audience began at an early age, which steered me to pursue degrees in journalism and acting. At night, you'll frequently find me at the theater and sometimes moonlighting on the stage. I also dabble in creative writing; the City of Shoreline commissioned me to write poems for its Voices in the Forest public art program.
Additional passions include wine and travel. I've visited vineyards in Italy, France, Spain, New Zealand, Austria and California, but continue to believe my home state has some of the best juice on the planet.
I'm always in beta mode. I've taken French lessons, earned a certificate in digital marketing from the University of Washington and am studying wine and food marketing and sales at the Northwest Wine Academy. Plus, I recently passed the WSET Level 2 exam with Distinction.

Content Writing & Copywriting
I use the power of words to help organizations share, sell and soar.
As a freelance content marketing writer, I write engaging, on-point content so brands like Avalara, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft and Palo Alto Networks are able to attract and retain customers. My bachelor's in journalism means I know how to tell a compelling story and my certificate in digital marketing ensures an online audience sees it. The content I create receives high engagement and has been picked up by syndicates such as Wine Business, Wine Industry Insight and CPA Practice Advisor.
I bring experience in B2B, B2C and B2G marketing and have written for every size of client ranging from international publicly traded tech companies to a small nonprofit that advocates for people with developmental disabilities.
Specialties include SaaS, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, ecommerce, wine, sales tax compliance and government.

Testimonials
“Kristin Alexander is an outstanding content writer who has truly become a subject matter expert within our organization. She is an invaluable asset to our team, demonstrating an exceptional ability to create engaging and high-quality content that effectively conveys our brand messaging.”
“I hired Kristin to do some ghostwriting for our company for a very important upcoming publication. I gave her a very general idea of what we wanted and she was able to perfectly distill down what needed to be done, conduct the right research and over-deliver on our expectations. She clearly understands how to put together a relevant article, gather the correct research and come to the table with facts and relevant data woven together with perfect storytelling. I would recommend Kristin to anyone who needs a fast, competent writer who delivers on time, and on budget with the right content every time. Five stars all the way.”“I hired Kristin to interview one of our customers when they brought us our largest consignment [of rare and collectible wines] in a decade. She wrote an excellent piece for our blog telling the story behind the collection. Kristin is highly organized and responsive to feedback. Her writing skills speak for themselves. I enjoyed working with her very much and will hire her again in the future!”
”If you like ‘grabby’ headlines and clever copy that pops off the page, Kristin's the gal for the job. And by the way, she can read ten pages of boring legal briefs — so boring a mere mortal might want to take his own life rather than set his eyes on another word — and then, magically, turn it into something really interesting. Is it magic? Nope. It's just Kristin.”

Acting Bio
As a young girl, my mother sometimes called me "Sarah." While Mom was undoubtedly poking fun at my dramatic flair — the nickname was a nod to actress Sarah Bernhardt — it's possible she also had a premonition. I began performing in plays shortly thereafter.
I made a renewed commitment to acting as an adult, graduating with Commendation Honors from the Master of Arts in Acting course at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in the heart of England. Additional training includes undergraduate studies at Western Washington University, a Shakespeare and classical intensive at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, master classes at Seattle's Freehold Theater and workshops in Seattle and the U.K.
In England, I developed an interest in devised performance and the integration of digital media and live theater. I made this the focus of my master's project, which included both an original performance and a thesis revealing insights from performers, directors, playwrights and educators from seven nations.
Additionally, I served on Freehold Theatre’s board of trustees for five years.
